BJP candidate has assets worth Rs. 57 lakh

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate V. Sunil Kumar has total assets worth Rs. 57.02 lakh. He also has loans of Rs. 18.75 lakh, according to the affidavit submitted by him to the Returning Officer of Udupi-Chikmagalur parliamentary constituency, here on Wednesday. When Mr. Kumar contested the Assembly elections from Karkala in 2008, he had assets worth Rs. 13.94 lakh and loans of Rs. 6.56 lakh. He has Rs. 52,000 in cash on hand, fixed deposits of Rs. 1.5 lakh, shares, bonds and debentures of Rs. 57,000, and LIC policies of Rs. 2.65 lakh. He has gold ornaments, whose value is estimated at Rs. 2.85 lakh. He has agricultural land whose worth is estimated at Rs. 33.32 lakh.
