BIMS recognition: Notification issued on Thursday

November 02, 2013 12:40 pm | Updated 12:40 pm IST - BIDAR:

The Union government has issued a notification granting permanent recognition to Bidar Institute of Medical Science (BIMS) applicable from January 2012. According to sources here, the notification was issued on October 31.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) had earlier refused to grant permanent recognition to BIMS citing shortage of staff and inadequate infrastructure as reasons.

However, the State government gave an undertaking to the MCI to fill all vacancies and provide necessary infrastructure within a year.

Rajyotsava gift

Terming the decision as a Rajyotsava gift to the State and Bidar in particular, N. Dharam Singh, MP, thanked Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for granting permanent recognition to BIMS.
