Bidar city will now be under electronic surveillance 24x7. The police have set up a network of cameras that will supply live feed to the control room to the district police.
Two cameras each have been put up in 19 important locations in the city. They are connected through dedicated cables that communicate with servers in the control room. Superintendent of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy, who launched the project recently, said that the technical tools would help the police tackle crime and handle the law and order situation.
The police have also asked private establishments to preserve video footage from their surveillance cameras and CCTVs.
