Senior Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer D. Bharathi is all set to take over as the new Registrar (Administration) of the University of Mysore.
A Government Order, issued by the DPAR, said Ms. Bharathi, now serving as Additional Regional Commissioner in Mysuru, has been transferred to the Higher Education Department for appointment as Registrar (Administration) of University of Mysore as per the directions of the Governor.
The order also directed that the incumbent Registrar (Admin.) R. Rajanna be repatriated to his parent department. Dr Rajanna is professor in the Department of History, University of Mysore.
Though Dr. Rajanna said he has not received any orders, acting Vice-Chancellor Dayanand Mane said the Higher Education Department’s order will follow the DPAR’s orders. “It is only a matter of time,” Dr. Mane said.
Ms. Bharathi’s appointment as the Registrar is also expected to bring the curtains down on the wrangling between two senior officials of the university. Dr. Rajanna and Dr. Mane have been at odds with each other over the last few weeks.
