Bengaluru Eco Team

On the lines of the successful Yelahanka model, the BBMP is now looking to create ‘Bengaluru Eco Team’, which will comprise representatives of active residents’ welfare associations, members of Solid Waste Management Expert Committee, the civic body’s officials including those in the Solid Waste Management Department and zonal commissioners.

Sarfaraz Khan, BBMP’s joint commissioner (SWM), said the Bengaluru Eco Team will work collectively to handle all garbage-related issues, including disposal of festival garbage, conducting awareness programmes and workshops in apartments.

He said a WhatsApp group will be created, which will be closely monitored by the BBMP on a daily basis.
