Bellary Rural bypoll: eight in the fray

With four persons who wanted to contest the Bellary Rural Assembly constituency byelection as Independents withdrawing their nomination papers on Tuesday, eight candidates are in the fray.

P. Gadilingappa of the BJP, B. Ramprasad of the Congress and B. Sriramulu, former BJP Minister, B. Anjinappa, K. Chennappa, Nagavalli Gangadhar, B.T. Raju and B. Ramprasad, all Independents, are in the fray, according to Sashikant Senthil, Assistant Commissioner and Returning Officer. Polling will be held on November 30. The Independent candidates have been allotted election symbols.
