Belgaum swimmer wins bronze at Special Olympics

Atish Jadhav of Belgaum won the bronze medal at the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games 2013 held in Australia on Tuesday.

According to his coach Umesh Kalghatgi, Atish Jadhav won the medal in the 400 m freestyle in M1 category, with a time of 7 min 49.26 sec. Holstein Ranon of Australia bagged the gold with his time of 7 min 19.1 sec.

This is his second international medal. Earlier, he had participated at the Special Olympics World Summer Games held at Athens, Greece, from June 25 to July 3 in 2011 and won a gold medal in the 400 m freestyle.
