The Central Bureau of Investigation has named K. Ajay, managing director of the city-based Green Techs Mining Company, in the charge sheet it submitted to the CBI court on Tuesday in the Belekeri iron ore theft case. The case, which was handed over to the CBI in September 2012, involved the theft and export of 5 lakh tonnes of illegally mined ore that had been impounded by the Forest Department and stored at the Belekeri port.

The others whose names figure in the charge sheet are the former Ankola Assistant Conservator of Forests Narendra Hitalamakki, the former Range Forest Officer G.C. Naik, the former Belekeri Port Officer Captain C. Swami and proprietor of Shri Lal Mahal Ltd. Rajkumar.

All these men, who are in judicial custody, have been accused of receiving bribes from Mr. Ajay to help him export the seized ore.
