Belagavi ready for counting

The district administration has put in place all measures to take up the counting of votes cast in the May 29 gram panchayat elections in the district on June 5.

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer N. Jayaram said here on Monday that the counting of votes would commence from 8 a.m. for all GPs at their concerned taluk headquarters.

The counting for 54 gram panchayats in Belgavi taluk would be held at Maratha Mandal Polytechnic; Khanapur (51 GPs) – Sarvodaya High School, Hukkeri (47 GPs) – S.K. High School; Bailhongal (48 GPs) – K.R.C.S. English Medium School; Ramdurg (33 GPs) – State Junior College; Savadatti (40 GPs) – S.K. High School; Gokak (54 GPs) – Government P.U. College; Chikkodi (63 GPs) – R.D. High School; Raibag (32 GPs) – Sree Laxmisena Education Society’s Mahaveer English Medium School; and Athani (50 GPs) – S.S.M.S. College.
