Ban order extended in Belagavi

Commissioner of Police M. Chandrashekar has extended the prohibitory orders in Belagavi city to May 18, in the wake of a minor disturbance on Fort Road on Tuesday night.

Disciplinary action has been initiated against the Circle Inspector for negligence and dereliction of duty.

A two-wheeler was set on fire and three jeeps were damaged when two groups began pelting stones at each other and at some shops on Tuesday evening. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
