Awareness session on career options for minority students

May 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - HUBBALLI:

Hundreds of students from the minority community underwent an eye-opening session here on Tuesday regarding a whole range of career options available to them after class 10 and II PUC. In a programme organised jointly by the Karnataka Muslim Rights, Social, Cultural and Welfare Foundation and various organisations including Cigma Foundation, Bengaluru, experts cleared misconceptions about various careers.

Chief executive officer of Cigma Foundation Ameen-e-Muddassar, elaborating on the criteria for choosing a course or career, said that students must first check whether the particular course suited their interest and capabilities. He advised them not to develop the “herd mentality” and take up a course based on peer trends, as every individual had different abilities and interest. He said that the best way to choose a college was through feedback from the outgoing or existing students of the particular institution.
