The Food and Civil Supplies Department is conducting an auction of 276 bags of rice seized by the police on the AMPC premises in Hassan on January 28. Interested can participate in the auction by paying Rs. 10,000 in advance. According to a circular issued by the Department, the Hassan Extension police had seized 276 bags of rice, each weighing 50 kg, last year on the outskirts of the city. A case was booked against the truck owner and drivers for carrying rice without valid permits. — Staff Correspondent
