Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Anantkumar Hegde received a threat call on his landline number early on Sunday. A complaint was filed by the Minister’s personal secretary Suresh Govind Shetty with the police. The incident happened at around 1.45 a.m on Sunday when Mr. Hegde was not at home. The Minister’s wife Roopa Hegde received the call, where an unknown person who spoke in Hindi warned her of dire consequences if Mr. Anantkumar continued speaking against the Muslims, the complaint said. The caller went on to say that he [Anantkumar] and his family would not be spared and that they would not allow them to take Ayodhya. As he continued to use abusive language Ms. Hegde disconnected the call. There were repeated calls on the landline from the same number (0022330000) and a frightened Ms. Hegde did not pick up the calls, Mr. Shetty said in the complaint.
