Ambedkar leaves them red-faced

October 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - HUBBALLI:

While addressing the conference, the BJP leaders referred to the incident of the Congress fielding a candidate against B.R. Ambedkar and ensuring his defeat in the first general elections in the country. However, the same leaders were left red-faced when one of the party workers in the audience stood up and asked why there was no photograph of Ambedkar on display on the dais.

Interestingly, the photographs of Jan Sangh founder Shyam Prasad Mukherjee and RSS ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya, along with the portrait of Bharat Mata, were displayed on the dais and the leaders paid floral tributes to them.
