Nearly all the households in Belagavi district have been covered in the Social Educational Survey taken up by the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes .

Prakash Argapur, district officer, Department of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, said here on Tuesday that they had set a target of surveying 10.42 lakh families in 8,232 blocks in 10 taluks. The number of families increased by 58,146 from 9,83,854 as per the Census 2011.

He said about 2,500 to 3000 residential units were in the category of “door locked” for various reasons, including holidays and marriages, families going on excursions or to attend other personal engagements.

Another chance

However, the commission would facilitate another opportunity to those who missed out to provide the details online.

He said more than 8,600 teachers from primary schools and high schools were assigned the job of enumerators.

Over 1,400 observers were appointed in the district, and 90 master trainers had trained the enumerators.
