Air warriors urged to keep pace with evolving technologies

Air Marshal A.S. Butola, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Training Command of Indian Air Force, visited the Airmen Training School here on Monday.

Air Commodore R. Ravishankar, Air Officer Commanding, Airmen Training School, received him. During his two-day visit, Air Marshal Butola was briefed on all training activities conducted at the school by the officers of the station.

The Air Marshal interacted with all personnel and trainees and reviewed the various training activities and inspected the facilities at the school. He inaugurated the newly constructed 1,000 Trainees Mess facility and a modern three-stage Sewage Treatment Plant.

Air Marshal Butola emphasised that the Indian Air Force was modernising at a rapid pace and new aircraft, weapon systems and communication facilities were in various stages of induction. He urged the air warriors to keep pace with evolving technologies to stay relevant in future conflicts. He emphasised the need to stay abreast with developments in the aerospace sector and provide training in handling these systems to retain the combat edge. He reiterated on the core values of honesty, integrity and excellence as the bed rock on which the professional career is to be built, and urged the trainees to maintain a steep learning curve to be an effective and operational air warrior on completion of their training.

The Air Marshal was accompanied by Monica Butola, president, Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association (Regional), Training Command, Indian Air Force. She was apprised of the efforts of AFWWA ventures by president AFWWA (Local) Chitra Shankar and interacted with all the members.
