Achievers honoured with Karnataka Bhushan Award

In recognition of their outstanding contribution to society, seven artistes were honoured with the Karnataka Bhushan Award by Hotti Foundation.

Journalist S.R. Mannur presented the awards to painter Basavaraj Gavimath from Ilakal, folk singer Baburao Kobal from Kalaburagi, photographer Ayazuddin Patel from Kalaburagi, theatre artist Raghunath Banigol from Vijayapura, playback singer Ramesh Joshi from Kalaburagi, writer Raghushankar Bhatabra from Bidar, and writer Guruprasada Vaidya from Yadgir, at a programme at Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu-e-Hind Hall on Sunday.

Commending the initiatives of Hotti Foundation for recognising the contributions of individuals in spreading awareness about the region’s cultural past, Mr. Mannur called upon people to join hands with the government departments in preserving historical monuments. Artistes K.S. Sarode, Basavaraj Uppin, Rehaman Patel, M.D. Minajagi; historian Ravichandra; Hotti Foundation president Revanasiddappa Hotti, and others were present.
