There is a flurry of fake job offers being made to unsuspecting youth by dubious agencies and individuals promising employment at the Mysuru airport ever since the increase in flight services to the city. Hence, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has cautioned the public not to be swayed by such offers.
Airport Director Manjunath told The Hindu that this has been a regular affair since the last few weeks and two persons had approached him on Tuesday making inquiries about the vacancies.
When told that there were no such job offers, the youth explained how they had paid money for application.
“One of them said he had paid ₹1,500 towards the application and hence was directed to lodge a complaint with the police,” said Mr. Manjunath. Another person suspected the genuineness of the caller and hence thought it fit to enquire with the officials, he said.
‘No vacancies’
Mr. Manjunath said there are no vacancies at the Mysuru Airport and recruitment, if any, will be conducted only by the AAI through established norms of calling for applications, conducting examination, interviews etc., before offering job offers.
He said AAI cannot be held responsible if job aspirants fall prey to such dubious offers.
