Addressing the gathering at a function organised to release “Vachanas” of Pontiff Jachani at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Bhavan in the city, Mr. Yeddyurappa said resorting to the “mistakes” had become inevitable when efforts were made to snatch power.

“There were many attempts to snatch the power from us. But we succeeded in resolving such developments. Steps will be taken to correct the mistakes. In future we will ensure that such kind of developments do not happen”, he said.

In the next three-and-a-half years, we will surely ensure the welfare of the citizens of the State. Certain changes will be made in the administration and policies for the better governance, Mr. Yeddyurappa said.

No reshuffle

Responding to queries from reporters about the growing clamour for ministerial berths from senior MLAs of the party in the wake of Honnali MLA M. P. Renukacharya’s induction into the Cabinet, Mr. Yeddyurappa said there was no proposal before him to effect a reshuffle of the Cabinet.

Currently the State Government is focussed on the State budget scheduled for March 2010. Preparations are in full swing to present a good budget and preference will be given to key areas like education.

Reacting to a query, he said the decision to include Mr. Renukacharya into the cabinet was taken jointly by the party leadership in the state and at the national level. “However, the consequences resulting on account of his inclusion will have to be borne by me”, Mr. Yeddyurappa said.

He said the BJP’s Legislature party meeting will be held on Tuesday evening.
