The Training Centre for Competitive Examinations (TCCE) here, which provides coaching to those who aspire to crack the exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and Karnataka Public Service Commission, is making waves.

The TCCE is an initiative of Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge. The infrastructure and the library at Siddartha Law College run by the Karnataka Peoples Education Society came in handy for the centre to provide coaching.

The TCCE is the first full-time professional training centre for civil service aspirants in the Hyderabad Karnataka region. Coaching is provided for free from the registration till the end of the year-long programme.

The centre was inaugurated by the then Principal Secretary of Higher Education Rajneesh Goel in 2015. The first two batches have achieved remarkable success in cracking the civil service examination conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

A fully trained third batch is all set to appear for the first time in the UPSC exam in August and the KPSC exam later.

According to Azra Parveen Shaik, coordinator, TCCE, of the 20 candidates in the first batch who registered for the training programme for the civil services examinations, 14 passed the mains exam conducted by the KPSC.

In the second batch, of the 27 candidates who were trained, 13 passed in the mains and were awaiting the call for personal interviews.

Maruti D. Maley, general secretary, TCCE, said that this success was due to the continued support extended by Mr. Kharge and his family members and the work of a panel of 18 faculty members. Senior officials like Additional Deputy Commissioner Govinda Reddy and Assistant Commissioner Bheemashankar Teggelli played a pivotal role in extending their expertise and being part of the faculty in the training programme.
