Social media post goes viral, evoking protest in Bidar

February 01, 2017 12:45 am | Updated 12:45 am IST - Bidar:

Members of some groups took out a march in Bidar on Tuesday in protest against Ashu Parihar, a video blogger, who they alleged had insulted Prophet Mohammad through her posts.

The protesters walked to the Deputy Commissioner’s office holding placards with pictures of the blogger and demanded that the State prosecute her.

In a memorandum addressed to the President, they complained that the woman had insulted Prophet Mohammad by using derogatory terms against him.

The video has now gone viral on the social media for all the wrong reasons, they said.

“No Muslim can tolerate insults to the Prophet. We are deeply hurt by the woman’s comments. She should be punished,” they said.
