Mysuru’s weekly storytelling programme completes ten years

The weekly storytelling programme for children, organised by Kalasuruchi, will complete ten years today. Noted short story writer Jayant Kaikini will narrate the event’s 523rd story at a programme organised at Suruchi Rangamane in Kuvempungar on Saturday to mark ten years. K. Nagaraja, co-ordinator, Kalasuruchi, said, “Every week, about 40 children, between the ages of six years to 16, gather to listen to stories between 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Writers, scholars, scientists, teachers, advocates, directors, police and intellectuals have participated in the programme over the last ten years.”
