Keshavamurthy of JD(S) joins Cong.

Kalale Keshavamurthy, who contested the 2013 Assembly polls on JD(S) ticket in Nanjangud constituency, joined the Congress on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G. Parameshwara.

Mr. Keshavamurthy will be the Congress candidate in the crucial bypoll to the Legislative Assembly from Nanjangud reserved segment. He will contest against former Minister V. Srinivas Prasad, who has joined the BJP. Mr. Keshavamurthy lost to Mr. Prasad during the 2013 Assembly elections by a margin of about 9,000 votes.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders said the party is likely to field Geetha Mahadeva Prasad, wife of the late Mahadeva Prasad, from Gundlupet constituency.
