The city will turn into a fortress on Saturday when the special court at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison Complex is expected to pronounce its verdict in the Rs. 66-crore disproportionate assets case involving Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
As the court has asked the accused, Ms. Jayalalithaa, to be present when it gives its ruling, the police are wary of law and order issues.
Ms. Jayalalithaa enjoys Z-Plus security cover.
The police are expected to be in full strength on the streets.
Though Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi denied any specific intelligence reports of trouble, he said they were being cautious.
The Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) and the City Armed Reserve (CAR) will be deployed additionally.
Additional CCTV cameras have also been installed in sensitive areas.
