Four arrested on charge of vehicle theft

The police have arrested four people on the charge of vehicle theft and have seized four cars and two bikes from them.

The arrested are Chand Peer (22), Mubarak (20), Javeed (27) and Nadeem (19). All the four arrested are residents of Bhadravati.

The four cars were stolen from Shivamogga while the bikes were lifted from Tarikere and Hubballi. The police have also seized five mobile phones and five grams of gold said to be stolen by the arrested. The total worth of the seized vehicles, mobile phones and gold is said to be around Rs. 12 lakh.

The police have booked cases under sections 379 (theft) and 457 (lurking house-trespass or house breaking by night) of Indian Penal Code against the arrested.
