Foreign tourists were seen collecting money even as a few others played on musical instruments near the central bus stand in Hosapete on Wednesday saying that they need financial assistance to reach Bengaluru as part of their world tour.

In a strange incident, several foreigners, mostly backpackers, were seen seeking financial assistance from the public at the central bus stand in Hosapete on Wednesday. For, such an event was being witnessed for the first time in the city where a large number of foreigners come regularly to visit the world famous Hampi.

Enquiries revealed that a group of about 100 foreigners assembled in the bus stand and a few of them held a placard in Hindi which read that they were going round India as part of their world tour for world peace and that they were in need of financial assistance to reach Bengaluru.

Then, a few among the group began playing musical instruments while others began dancing and yet a few others went round with a hat seeking monetary help.

The purpose of collecting money was not clear, as some said that they were duped, while others said that they wanted to procure eatables and also to buy tickets for their onward journey to Bengaluru.

The police, on coming to know of it, came to the spot and asked them to vacate the place. After that, all the foreigners dispersed with none boarding a bus.
