The annual celebrations of the Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama on the fort premises here will be held for three days from Friday. As part of the celebrations, various programmes and events have been planned, including a youth convention for college girls on Saturday, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sister Nivedita, the Irish disciple of Swami Vivekananda.
Cultural programmes will be organised in the evenings on all the three days. A violin recital by Ganesh Kumaresh Brothers in Carnatic style will be featured on Saturday evening.
Pt. M. Venkatesh Kumar of Dharwad would render Hindustani classical and devotional songs on the concluding day of the celebrations, said Swami Atmaprananda, secretary of the ashrama.
He said that spiritual discourses, bhajans and various other activities had been slated for the occasion. Prasadam for all devotees and the public have been organised.
