Vice-Chancellor of Tumkur University, Prof. A.H. Rajasab said, that the honorary doctorate degree will be awarded to the Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation, Dr. A.S. Kiran Kumar, former senior scientist, Geographical Survey of India, T.R. Anantharamu and noted Kannada writer, Prof. Baraguru Ramachandrappa at the Eighth Annual Convocation of the University to be held on January 24 in the premises.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Prof. Rajasab said that the Governor, Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala would preside over the program, Vice-Chairman of University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Prof. H. Devaraj would deliver the convocation address and Minister for Higher education, R.V. Deshpande would be present on the occasion.
He said one D. Litt degree, one Ph.D, 1,208 post-graduate degrees and 7,297 graduate degrees would be presented at the Eighth Annual Convocation of the University.
The University will award 73 gold medals including 56 gold medals of the endowments instituted by various donors and four cash prizes at the convocation.
