Having declared 156 taluks in the State as drought-affected during the rabi season, the State government has released ₹ 637 crore for tackling drought and implementing drought relief programmes in the drought-hit areas.
Speaking at a grievance redressal programme after hearing grievances from the general public here on Tuesday, Revenue Minister and district in-charge R.V. Deshpande said that all Deputy Commissioners of the 30 districts had been allocated ₹ 5 crore each for taking up works immediately.
