There are 130 gram panchayats in Chamarajanagar district. According to sources, nomination papers filed for six seats in Chamarajanagar taluk, 45 in kollegal taluk, three each in Gundlupet and Yelandur taluks were rejected on Wednesday.

As a result, 2,308 candidates in Chamarajanagar taluk, 2,430 in Kollegal, 2,525 in Gundlupet and 662 Yelandur taluk are in the election fray.
