A 35-year-old autorickshaw driver, who was an office-bearer of the Social Democratic Party of India, was murdered reportedly by persons who boarded his vehicle as commuters in Bantwal Rural police station limits on Wednesday morning.

According to A.M. Ataullah, General Secretary of Dakshina Kannada unit of SDPI, Ashraf Kulai (35), was the president of SDPI’s Ammunje unit of Bantwal.
