The three leopard cubs being hand-reared at the Mysuru zoo are doing well.
“Leopards are highly adaptable animals and the cubs are getting adjusted to the surrounding,” Executive Director B.P. Ravi said.
Of the three cubs, two were rescued from K.R. Nagar taluk and one from T. Narsipur taluk. The zoo is extending technical help to raise two other leopard cubs at K.R. Pet in Mandya district. All five cubs, except one from T. Narsipur, were rescued from sugarcane fields.
The two cubs from K.R. Nagar were just 8 to 10 days old when they were brought to the zoo, he said.
