1.6 lakh cusecs released from Basavasagar reservoir

Officials of Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd. (KBJNL) have released 1.6 lakh cusecs of water from Basavasagar reservoir.

They continued water release from the reservoir in Narayanapur of Yadgir district after it received heavy inflow from Almatti dam on Tuesday following rain in Belagavi rural in Karnataka and in the catchment areas in Maharashtra. Water level in the reservoir stood at 491. 8 metres against the full reservoir level of 492.25 metres. The district administration has continued to alert villagers living on Krishna river banks.
