14-year-old’s death: family suspects foul play

October 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - HUBBALLI:

The family of a 14-year-old girl, who died under mysterious circumstances here on Friday, has suspected foul play behind her death and has urged the police to bring the culprits to book.

Speaking to The Hindu , the girl’s uncle said that the authorities should nab the culprits and punish them so that such incidents do not recur.

He also suspected the involvement of persons from an influential background in this incident.

He said that he had visited the apartment from where the girl is believed to have fallen.

He had found that the entrance of the terrace was locked, but there was a passage from where one could enter the terrace. “When she was chased by two boys, she must have gone to the terrace by that passage. But whether she jumped off or was pushed down is to be ascertained by the police inquiry,” he said.

Hubballi-Dharwad Commissioner of Police, Panduranga H. Rane, said that the police are investigating the case.
