Justice Karnan told the Supreme Court on Friday that he wants his six months sentence to be suspended.

On behalf of Justice Karnan his lawyer stated to the SC Bench led by CJI Khehar that there is a provision for the contemnor to apologise in Contempt of Courts Act 1971 even after order of punishment.

His lawyer told the CJI, “The Registry is not accepting my petition. I may be arrested any time. I want suspension of sentence.”

Chief Justice Khehar while questioning the request said, “Seven of us sat together and took a considered decision. What is this? You are coming to us morning, afternoon and evening.”
