Jessica case: plea for parole rejected

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday turned down a plea for parole from the convict in the 1999 Jessica Lall murder case.

Amardeep Singh Gill, sentenced to four years in jail, sought three months to look for accommodation for his wife and children in Gurgaon.Dismissing the plea, Justice M.L. Mehta said a maximum of four days' parole could be given for such a purpose. “Unless there is emergency situation, I am not inclined to grant him parole.” Gill is serving jail term along with Manu Sharma, the son of the former Union Minister and Congress leader, Venod Sharma.
