In continuation of his efforts to mobilise support against the Centre’s decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa between November 26 and 29.
A special court for CBI cases here on Monday allowed Mr. Reddy’s plea to visit Chennai to meet Ms. Jayalalithaa. His counsel filed a petition seeking relaxation of his bail condition to visit Chennai on any of the four days since the YSR Congress leadership was told by Ms. Jayalalithaa’s office they would get an appointment during the period.
Irrespective of what strategy they will adopt in Parliament when the Telangana Bill is introduced, Mr. Reddy has succeeded in eliciting oral support from the leaderships of the CPI (M), the Trinamool Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the Biju Janata Dal against the Centre’s “unilateral” approach in bifurcating AP.
