Inside Kaziranga: counting one-horned rhinos

This year, 67 enumerators including 38 forest officials from across Assam and 29 invited observers undertook the Rhino Population Estimation at Kaziranga National Park.

The census held in March counted 2,413 rhinos: 758 males, 942 females, and 385 calves -- the sex of 328 remains undetermined.
