HC allows Salman’s plea in blackbuck case

October 28, 2015 03:33 am | Updated November 16, 2021 03:53 pm IST - Jaipur:

The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday allowed actor Salman Khan access to the documents of prosecution sanction against him under the Arms Act.

The actor has been accused of using weapons with expired licence for blackbuck hunting.

“The High Court has permitted us to access the documents pertaining to the prosecution sanction made by the then Jodhpur Collector,” H.M. Saraswat, Salman’s counsel, said.

Plea rejected earlier

The plea was earlier rejected in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (rural) in Jodhpur.

“This seems to be a mere tactic to prolong the court proceedings and delay the final judgment in the case, as access to the documents is not going to change anything,” said Vikram Singh Rajpurohit, government counsel.
