The Gujarat government on Monday lifted ban on Maggi with immediate effect. The State’s food and drug control agency removed the ban following the Bombay High Court’s verdict removing the ban across the country.

In June, the State had imposed ban on sale of the controversial Maggi after it was found with high contents of lead and monosodium glutamate (MSG).

Karnataka follows suit

PTI reports:

The Karnataka government on Monday decided to allow manufacture and sale of Maggi noodles in the State as it decided to withhold the Centre’s directive banning it, saying it lacked clarity. The State would withhold the implementation of Central order on Maggi, said Karnataka Health Minister U.T. Khader in Bengaluru.
