Govt. may refer OROP to seventh pay commission

There is a strong possibility that the government may refer the issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP) to the 7th Pay Commission, officials said even as deliberations between representatives of ex-servicemen and the government continued on Wednesday to sort out differences. Official sources indicated that this has raised expectations that the Pay Commission — which was given a four-month extension — could include recommendations on the long-pending OROP scheme. Meanwhile, Army chief General Dalbir Singh and Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Nripendra Mishra held separate meetings with the veterans in the day.
