Taking cognisance of the alleged sexual assault by Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal of a woman journalist of the magazine, the Goa State Commission for Women has asked the State police to submit a complete report by Monday.

Commission chairperson Vidya Shet Tanavade told The Hindu on Saturday that the Commission had sought the report from DIG O.P. Mishra to conduct its own investigation. It would also follow up the case with the National Commission for Women and press Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who also holds the Home portfolio, to ensure a thorough probe.

On the alleged sexual harassment of a programmer by an official of the Directorate of Film Festival in the run-up to the ongoing International Film Festival of India here, she said she would write to Director of Film Festival Shankar Mohan on Monday, seeking the entire report of the case. The Delhi-based girl was dissatisfied with the closure of the case after the committee failed to get conclusive evidence.
