Fodder Scam: 37 sentenced to jail with ₹29 crore fine

Three suppliers have been sentenced to seven years in jail with ₹1 crore fine each

A Special CBI court in Ranchi has sentenced 37 accused persons, including 16 public servants and 21 suppliers, to imprisonment ranging from three-and-half to 14 years in Dumka Fodder Scam case.

The convicts have also been fined a total of ₹29 crore.

"The then Animal Husbandry Department Regional Director O. P. Diwakar has been sentenced to 14 years jail. The other 15 public servants have to serve seven years jail and pay up ₹1 crore each in fine," said a CBI official.

Three suppliers have been sentenced to seven years in jail with ₹1 crore fine each, while 18 have to serve 3.5 years jail with ₹50 lakh fine.
