End fast: RSS

June 12, 2011 02:56 am | Updated August 18, 2016 12:36 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday issued a statement appealing to yoga expert Baba Ramdev that he end his fast.

Hoping that Ramdev would respond to his appeal, Mr. Bhagwat said his “active guidance” was needed by the country, which was “beholden to him” for his campaign on corruption and black money. His hospitalisation after several days of fasting, he said, was a cause for concern.

Ramdev's health was discussed at a core committee meeting of the BJP. Earlier, the Central leadership had asked Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to ensure that the best medical treatment was given to him.
