Ms Sharmila had gone to Delhi in 2006 to go on an indefinite her fast there. As per court order she was to be produced in the court on December 9, 2013. However. this could not be done since the government did not sanction money in time for her transportation.

Giving a slip to security agencies, Ms Sharmila, who was released by the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, went to Delhi in March 2013.
