Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said that this year defence exports would be double compared to last year.

Speaking to reporters here on the sidelines of Global Business Forum 2015, organised by alumni of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Mr Parikkar said.

He was in favour of encouraging exports because there were many small countries who for their defense look towards India.

“Export of defense products will not only provide you economical benefits but it will also enhance ties with India's friends,'' quipped Mr. Parrikar.
