The cross-LoC bus service between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir resumed on Monday after a two-week break, sparked by the detention of a Muzaffarabad-based truck driver at the Trade Facilitation Centre in Salamabad, Uri.
Regional Passport Officer Firdaus Iqbal, who manages the cross-LoC travel in Kashmir, told The Hindu that 64 passengers from both sides crossed the LoC at Aman Setu in Uri.
Eighteen of them were fresh Kashmiri visitors going to Muzaffarabad and 10 went back to their PoK homes after remaining strande
On the other hand, 34 stranded Kashmiris returned to Srinagar from Muzaffarabad. Two more were fresh passengers from PoK.
Sources said the stalemate over the trade was still continuing, though a J&K delegation headed by Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla Ghulam Ahmad Khwaja was scheduled to meet a PoK delegation led by Director-General of Trade and Travel Brig. (retd.) Ismail Khan.
