CPI releases second list

Bimla Sori will be the Communist Party of India’s candidate from the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency in Chhattisgarh.

Releasing its second list, the CPI also announced the names of eight candidates from Tamil Nadu, one each from Maharashtra and Puducherry, and four from Kerala.

The candidates in Tamil Nadu are G. Palanisamy (Nagapattinam), K. Subbarayan (Tiruppur), P. Lingam (Tenkasi), A.S. Kannan (Tiruvallur), Balasubramanian (Cuddalore), A. Mohanraj (Thoothukudi), S. Krishna (Sivaganga) and R.T. Uma Maheswari (Ramanathapuram).

In Puducherry, the candidate is R. Viswanathan. In Kerala, the party is fielding Bennat Abraham in Thiruvananthapuram, C.N. Jayadevan in Thrissur, Chengara Surendran in Mavelikara and Sathyan Mukeri in Wayanad.

The CPI also announced three names each from Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, two from Punjab.
