Mandya police check passport papers

October 28, 2015 02:38 am | Updated September 02, 2016 11:15 am IST - Mandya (Karnataka):

With the fake passport seized from underworld don Chhota Rajan stating that he is a resident of Mandya, the district police conducted a special drive on Tuesday to verify the authenticity of the passport.

Later it was found that the department had not issued police verification certificate to anyone named ‘Mohan Kumar’ in 2008.

“We had not received any application from persons named as Mohan Kumar in 2008,” said Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, Superintendent of Police, Mandya.

According to Mr. Borase, so far neither Interpol nor the CBI contacted them about the passport. However, the police are in constant touch with senior CBI officials in Bengaluru.
