The Union government has repatriated Rina Ray, Secretary, School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, to her parent cadre with immediate effect.

Ms. Ray, a 1984 batch IAS officer of the Union Territory Cadre, was removed as the PMO “is not happy with her performance” and because of her “behavioural issues”, sources said.

A notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare was given the additional charge of the post of Secretary, School Education and Literacy.

Before she was appointed to the post in August 2018, Ms. Ray had served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Human Resource Development since 2015. She also served as Education Secretary in the Delhi government.
